Northern team of the week - Fleetwood Town

A new blog feature we're starting today is the Northern team of the week and the winner of the first one is Fleetwood Town of the Blue Square Premier. Fleetwood secured an impressive victory over Mansfield yesterday to go nine points clear at the top of the league. Roared on by a crowd of over three thousand they smashed two goals against a Mansfield team which had been in good form prior to the game.With Fleetwood looking favourites to now win the Blue Square Premier it looks as if we'll have another Northern team in the league next season. A special mention to their league rivals Southport who have defied the odds and could be featuring in the end of season play-offs to gain promotion into the league. We'd like to wish both clubs the very best of luck for the rest of the season.
